Conditions for participation in the Holland got Horsemanship Golden Oldies Contest

Anyone with a pony or horse of 17 years or older can participate in the preliminary round of Holland Got Horsemanship Golden Oldies Contest.
To participate in the preliminary round you need to register on MyCompass.Horse.
You can participate in the category for ponies and horses from 17 to 21 years old (Golden Seniors) or in the category 22+ (Golden Oldies)
After you have made your choice in which category you will participate, you can upload your video immediately.
You may submit one video per category in the preliminary round. You can participate in both categories in the preliminary round.
If you are selected for the semi-finals with two entries, you may only enter with 1 entry.
You can submit your video at any time during the duration of the preliminary round and the semi-finals.
Voting is open during the term. We encourage you to be there early so that people have enough time to vote for you!
Every like on the video counts as a vote. Voters can give their feedback below the submission.
Participation in the contest is free.
To participate in the final of the contest, you must have a profile on MyCompass.Horse.

In order to be selected for the semifinals, you must have at least 25 votes. You can increase your chances by sharing your entry via social media and inviting your network to vote.
For each category, the 10 entries with the most votes will advance to the semifinals. For the semifinals, you need to make a new video
In the semifinals, the 5 entries with the most votes per category will advance to the final. They do not have to submit a new video for this.
The ranking in the semi-finals counts for 50% of the final result. Place 1 = 5 points, place 2 = 4 points, place 3 = 3 points, place 4 = 2 points and place 5 = 1 point.

For all entries of the preliminary round and semi-final: The community is the jury.
Anyone can register as a member of the community. This registration is free of charge.
For the semi-finals, a wildcard or even a golden ticket can be awarded to participants in consultation with the professional jury .
With a Wildcard , a participant is admitted to the semi-finals who fall just outside the selection, but which the professional jury thinks deserves another chance.
With a Gol den Ticket , a participant from the preliminary round is immediately assured of a place in the final with 5 placement points. A new video must then be submitted before the final. A golden ticket will only be awarded if the professional jury unanimously agrees that the participant belongs in the final.

Both the community and the professional jury are asked to judge the entries on 3 themes:

Commitment: The way in which your pony/horse is used in sports, recreation, coaching or training. From this, the community/jury must be able to form an idea of whether the requested effort is appropriate to the qualities, but also perhaps the limitations of the older horse. (maximum 3 minutes)
Quality of life: The way the horse is managed and housed. (Max. 1 min)

Vitality: You put your horse on a stand all around on the video so that his eye, condition, position of the legs / hooves, coat and overall appearance is clearly visible (Max. 1 min.)

Assessment by the professional jury:

The entries of the finalists will be judged by the professional jury in the period from 15 June to 30 June. Each jury member makes their own ranking. This ranking determines the number of points. The average number of points of the professional jury counts for 50%.
For the final ranking, the score of the semi-final counts for 50% and the assessment of the professional jury for 50%.
The winners can be invited to a live event. (TBD)

The contest runs from 1 April 2023 to 30 June 2023

The winners will be announced via MyCompass.Horse on July 1, 2023. The official award ceremony will take place on 9 July 2023 (subject to change).

Videos should not be longer than 5 minutes.
When making the video, stick to the assignment so that the professional jury can judge you as well as possible.
Anyone suspected of fraud by obtaining false votes will be immediately disqualified.
Entrants who post negative comments about other entrants will be immediately disqualified.
Voters are allowed to provide constructive and constructive feedback in the responses. Give tops and tips! Participants are vulnerable and should be treated with respect. Negative feedback will be removed immediately.

In the event that the online contest is cancelled by MyCompass.Horse due to insufficient participation or force majeure, prizes will not be paid out.
In the unlikely event that finalists cannot or do not want to participate in the (semi) final, this place will be filled by the reserve.
