Collection of personal data
If you create a MyCompass.Horse account, you provide us with certain information that can be used to identify you, such as:

2. Email address
3. Profile and cover photo
For the sake of transparency, only real names or company names can be used to create an account. Your name, username, and profile picture will be displayed publicly on MyCompass.Horse.
Your content
We collect the content you upload and share on our platform, such as the images and texts, as well as the metadata provided with the information you share, such as creation time, language, country and time zone.
Use of personal data
Our platform is designed to help you share and find information within the horse world. The personal information mentioned above is used to make this possible and to improve MyCompass.Horse. MyCompass.Horse can analyze your information for trends and other insights. This data cannot be traced back to individual persons.

By default, most of the content you submit, post or display through our platform is public and can be viewed by other users. For certain information fields, we provide you with visibility settings so that you can select who can see this information.

You can also permanently delete your MyCompass.Horse account or request that we delete your personal information by contacting us at info@mycompass.horse.
When you request an overview of your personal data or request us to change or delete your personal data, we may ask you to provide us with a copy of a valid proof of identity to prevent misuse. However, we kindly ask you to make your Citizen Service Number illegible.
We will respond to any appropriate request within the period specified by law.
Retention period
We will retain your personal data for the period necessary to achieve the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

We take reasonable administrative, physical and electronic measures to protect the information we collect from or about you (including your personal information) from unauthorized access, use or disclosure.
Please note that the security of your personal information also depends on the protection of your account. Don't give your account credentials to unauthorized people. Also, make sure to sign out when you're done using a shared computer.
